Academic services

The academic work behind a credible provider

Course design, academic governance and the scholarly practice that distinguishes an education provider from a training vendor.

IWhat we do

Three things, done properly.

i

Course design

Building courses with articulated learning outcomes, assessment aligned to them, and a defensible volume of learning.

ii

Academic governance

Boards and committees with real authority, and minutes that evidence genuine deliberation.

iii

Scholarly practice

Keeping teaching staff connected to the discipline, which is what separates a provider from a vendor.

IIWhat goes wrong

The two failures we see most.

We publish these because most of the value in hiring anyone is knowing which mistakes are common, and that knowledge is not worth hiding.

Governance on the chart only

An academic board that exists in the constitution and rubber stamps in practice is a core registration problem, and it is visible in the minutes.

Outcomes written after the content

Learning outcomes reverse engineered from existing slides do not drive assessment, and the misalignment shows up the first time anyone maps them.

IIIHow we work

We tell you what we find.

Including when the answer is that you do not need what you came to ask for. Anyone who never says that is not giving you information, they are giving you an invoice.

Scope

Where something needs a legal opinion, a financial audit or a clinical judgement, we will say so and stop rather than improvise past the edge of what we do.

Start a conversation.

Tell us the situation rather than the service you think you need. We would rather start from your problem.
